For community activity, wellbeing and support settings

Pause & Reset

A simple WIDE Free card for people rebuilding confidence around movement, activity and recovery.

WIDE does not demand activity. It enables it.

WIDE Free helps people notice what activity has left them with and choose a lower-pressure next step: watch, imagine, start smaller, pause, recover, stop, or enough for now.

Pause & Reset What did activity leave you with? Watch Imagine Pause Enough
A simple reflection tool for before, after or between community activity sessions.

A small fit with existing community activity

WIDE Free is designed to sit around existing sessions — not replace them.

Before a session

Help someone notice how they are starting today: ready, unsure, tired, uncomfortable or “not today”.

After a session

Help someone notice what activity left behind: clearer, more tired, unsettled, confident, or enough for now.

Between sessions

Help someone choose what fits next time: repeat, reduce, watch, imagine, pause, recover or stop.

For Vista-type partners

WIDE Free may fit organisations that already support people with long-term conditions, disability, reduced confidence or difficulty accessing mainstream activity.

Vista helps people access activity. WIDE helps them notice what activity leaves behind.
Vista Tribe Members / participants
A simple way to reflect on what a session left them with.
Instructors and trainee instructors
A shared language for activity without over-demanding.
Volunteers and supporters
A practical cue to encourage without pushing.
Education / activity leader settings
A possible future learning module: understanding what activity leaves behind.

The card gives choices, not instructions

WIDE Free makes lower-pressure options visible and legitimate.

A low-risk first test

Not a pilot at first. Just one session, one card, informal feedback.

Suggested first ask

Could WIDE Free be tried as a simple before / after reflection card around one existing activity session, to see whether the wording makes sense to participants, instructors or volunteers?

What we would like to learn

  • Does the idea feel useful or unnecessary?
  • Would people prefer a home card, pocket card or QR web-card?
  • Does “activity leaves something behind” make sense?
  • Does “enough for now” feel supportive?
  • Where would it fit best: before, after or between sessions?

Three possible formats

Partners can tell us which version would be most realistic in their setting.

Home card

A larger card for fridge, table, noticeboard or activity bag.

Pocket card

A simple reminder people can carry to and from a session.

QR web-card

A no-account phone version for quick reflection and feedback.

Clear boundary

WIDE Free would not replace a partner’s screening, suitability process, instructor judgement or activity design. It is a reflection and activity-enablement tool only.

Not medical advice
Not physiotherapy
Not diagnosis
Not treatment
Not exercise prescription
Not suitability screening
Not safety assessment
Not proof of ability
No pressure to continue

Would this be useful around one existing session?

WIDE Free is seeking founder feedback from community activity, wellbeing and support organisations.

Arrange a short conversation

If this may fit your community activity work, I would value a short conversation about whether a home card, pocket card or QR web-card could be useful.
